Only in recent years that people have discovered that Petersham provides an extensive range of Portuguese eateries. One of the most famous cake shops in Sydney “Sweet Belem” have appeared in the press numerous times for its delicious Portuguese desserts and tarts.

Petersham is a quiet family oriented suburb with limited options for shopping - however there are a variety of grocery stores to keep you eating the best fruits and veggies. Ashfield mall is only a 7 minute drive away, with Woolworths, Coles, ALDI and Kmart open till late.

Situated 6 kilometres from Sydney’s CBD, Petersham is at the heart of Greater Sydney’s popular inner west precinct. It is also part of the T2 Sydney Trains train line. Petersham is a character filled locale with many late 18th century terraces dominating the street scape. Its dominant architectural landscape has appealed to a younger hip crowd in recent years with many of the historic properties being revived to suit 21st century living.
